General Treatments
We provide a full range of high-quality general dentistry services for all generations in a friendly, modern, well-equipped environment. Everything from regular examinations and hygienist care to tooth replacement and aesthetic treatments.
Nowadays it’s realistic for most of us to be able to keep our own teeth for life, preventive care can help you achieve this. Following an initial consultation, we’ll create a treatment plan tailored to your individual needs. This may simply involve ongoing regular checkups and hygiene visits, or treatment for an existing problem with your teeth or gums. Apart from check-ups our general dentistry services include fillings, extractions and emergency treatment.

Check-Ups
Ideally our dentists like to see you at regular intervals to monitor your teeth and gums, and check for any signs of oral cancer. We simply want to make sure that your teeth and gums are problem-free and your dental records up to date. Where appropriate, this will include taking an x-ray. We’ll advise you if any further treatment is needed (such as a filling), and you can talk to your dentist about any non-emergency concerns.

Hygiene Treatment
Our hygienists will give advice on how best to look after your oral health, and continually assess and record your dental hygiene. This includes offering dietary and lifestyle suggestions to help you keep your teeth healthier for longer.
They’ll give your teeth a thorough, professional clean – often referred to as a ‘scale and polish’ – to access areas you find difficult to reach at home. Removing deposits that build up on teeth (tartar), and teaching you how to prevent it reforming again, will go a long way towards slowing the progress of gum disease.
Our hygienists work closely with the dentists to provide high quality care tailored to your specific, individual needs. You can get more information, or book an appointment, through our reception desk.

Treating Children
It’s never too soon to teach your child good dental routines, nor to bring them to see one of our dentists!
We can’t stress enough how important it is to get children feeling happy and relaxed in the dental surgery environment – and learning really good diet and oral health habits – from the earliest possible age.
Tip-top tooth tips:
•Try to restrict food and drink containing sugar to meal times only
•You can start to clean your baby’s teeth with a baby toothbrush as soon as the teeth begin to come through
•Brush your child’s teeth until they’re at least seven years old after which age they should be able to carry out their own brushing under supervision
•Encourage them to simply spit out toothpaste left at the end, not to rinse with water
•All children should use a pea sized amount of age appropriate fluoride toothpaste.
Are children free at the dentists on the NHS?
Yes. If they’re under 18, or under 19 and in full-time education,
children get free NHS dental treatment.

Tooth Whitening
Your lifestyle and ageing can stain your teeth and make them look darker; tooth whitening can take years off your appearance, giving you a sparkling, confidence-boosting smile.

Orthodontics
Orthodontic treatment is a way of straightening or moving teeth to either improve their appearance or how they work – often referred to as ‘the bite’.
Invisalign are clear and custom-moulded to your teeth, providing completely individual treatment to every patient. Removable and virtually invisible, clear plastic Invisalign straightening offers the ultimate discretion. Please contact us for more details.
Inman Aligner offers an efficient, affordable and very safe solution for crowding or protrusion of the front teeth. The Inman Aligner gently guides your front teeth to an ideal position, usually in 6-18 weeks and, as it’s removable, you can take it out to fit in with your lifestyle.
Traditional Braces are a visible brace. If you would preferer this treatment method, we would refer you to an orthodontist. We can refer some children - who fit strict criteria, for NHS treatment - or we can refer privately.

Veneers, Crowns & Bridges
Veneers are very thin, specially-shaped pieces of porcelain or other tooth-coloured material that we bond to the front teeth to give you a beautiful smile. In suitable cases veneers can be used to close up gaps and improve the shade or colour of your teeth. Treatment can take as little as three to four weeks.
Crowns are an artificial restoration that fits over the remaining part of a prepared tooth, making it strong and giving it the shape of a natural tooth. A crown is sometimes known as a 'cap'.
Bridges are made by putting crowns on the teeth at either side of a gap, and then joining these two crowns together by placing a false tooth in the space. This is all made in the laboratory and the pieces are cemented into place with dental adhesive. The bridge can't be removed.

Dentures
People wear dentures to replace lost or missing teeth so they can enjoy a healthy diet and smile with confidence. Dentures are made of either acrylic (plastic) or metal.
A ‘complete’ or ‘full’ denture is one that replaces all the natural teeth in either the upper or lower jaw.
A ‘partial’ denture fills in the spaces left by lost or missing teeth. It may be fastened to your natural teeth with metal clasps or ‘precision attachments'.

Implants
A dental implant is a small titanium peg that is locked into your jawbone. A ceramic crown is screwed onto this, which looks and performs just like an original tooth.
